EMPLOYMENT AND EQUALITY LAW


Sarah has specialised in employment and equality law since 1998. 


Sarah is experienced in unfair dismissal and redundancy claims. 


In the field of equality law, Sarah acts for claimants in all areas of discrimination law. Sarah takes a particular interest in cases dealing with sexual orientation and gender reassignment issues. 


Sarah has a particular expertise in equal pay claims. She was junior counsel for the successful claimants in the claims against Birmingham City Council and is instructed by a number of firms whose claims against Birmingham have not yet reached Tribunal. 


Sarah has also dealt with a number of discrimination cases involving education, access to goods and services and the provision of public services such as social housing and the management of convicted prisoners.

Recent Cases

Sarah is representing the trustees of a small charity facing a constructive dismissal claim from a former employee. 


Sarah recently assisted a serving police officer with procedural problems in the presentation of his discrimination claim. 


Sarah successfully acted for a small firm facing an employment claim from a self-employed consultant. ​


Sarah obtained a Restricted Reporting Order for a client in a case which was attracting media attention.
